Be the best dressed guest at any wedding with these fashion must-haves

etc’s Cara Houchen takes a look at occasion wear for the summer wedding season

It’s the time of year when the wedding invitations you stuffed at the back of your drawer reappear and you have to find a fabulous frock ready for the occasion.
You have to look good, but you must never outshine the bride!
For you ladies looking for a wedding guest outfit here are some of my favourites …
I’m going to start at the pricier end of the scale and this full-length, fish tail, print sensation by Erdem is stunning. It is beautifully cut and the head-turning colours will make you look effortlessly chic.
For an equally impressive print selection, but for a fraction of the price, try this gorgeous Phase Eight number. Team with a cute pair of heels such as these cheeky Kiss me Dolores by Charlotte Olympia and you’ll be one step ahead of the other guests.
More is more when it comes to wedding accessories. Think hats, fascinators, sparkling jewels and handbags to match.
If your outfit speaks for itself then this 18ct gold plated design by Monica Vinader is perfect,
But if you want your jewellery to be the talking point why not add a touch of sparkle with these earrings from by Brilliant?
Made in perfect conditions, the jewels are flawless in cut, clarity and colour – and like diamonds, they will last forever.
Not everybody is into head gear so if you don’t want to hide behind a huge hat opt for a fascinator. Accessorize have a good selection as do House of Fraser – and it also has a lovely selection of hats, too.
Although you may think you don’t suit a hat it’s always worth trying one on as they can often turn a nice outfit into an amazing one.
Finally, finish the look with a bag. For me, it always has to be a clutch, and this satin one by Alexander McQueen is stunning – and you can decorate your fingers at the same time with its knuckleduster clasp.
So your outfit is complete, you hair is immaculate and your make-up is perfect – unfortunately one thing you can’t have the final say on is the weather so maybe an emergency brolly should be factored into your final look!
